This week we take a look back at one of our approved projects. At Pop Build we are pleased to say that we have achieved 100% planning success, due to a considered and communicative design process - we work as closely as possible with the local council to ensure we are taking their requirements and any concerns into consideration. In particular, where we are looking to introduce contemporary design and sustainable principles, it is important to demonstrate that we are cognisant of the surrounding context and mindful of existing architecture.
Below are a couple of images for the design of a home that was approved in the West Deeping conservation area in 2019. The primary materials for the extension were chosen to match the existing house, however this traditional stone has been combined with a generous amount of high performance glazing to create a space that can be opened to the garden in the summer whilst comfortable and warm in the winter.

We often use 3D visuals as we find it is helpful for clients to visualise our designs. They allow a deeper understanding of the relationship between new and old, and assist in achieving the desired aesthetic. 3D imagery is especially important when submitting designs within a conservation area, where we need to reassure planners and clients that our suggestions sit harmoniously within the surrounding context.
